The Prep School Hockey Federation (PSHF) has announced that its Board of Directors has approved the membership application for a PSHF team in Barrie, Ontario owned by Hockey Training Institute International Inc..

The team will be known as the HTI Stars will compete in the PSHF beginning in the 2021-22 season.

“We have always been interested in expanding the PSHF, but the situation has to be right to in order to grow PSHF Hockey. The combination of the facility, the market, the history, and the wonderful ownership group brought forward as the HTI Stars is second to none. This organization is more than ready and capable to hit the ground sprinting and we look forward to how impactful they will be as members of the PSHF and our players in the very near future,” said PSHF Commissioner Anthony Miele.

The Hockey Training Institute has been involved in hockey and academics since 2014. Over the past 7 years HTI have worked with players from Canada, USA, Russia, Germany, Czech Republic, Austria, Hungary, Switzerland, Norway, Italy, Australia and even Mexico. After this season HTI will have over 75 players who have moved on to the NCAA and CIS levels. It is a very unique environment and a great opportunity for players to experience living, training and competing alongside other motivated athletes from around the world. The friendships formed along the way is something that HTI values and something our players get to keep with them for many years after they move on from HTI’s program. It is the best reward to see the players develop and succeed on and off the ice.

“Our focus will be to develop players to help them achieve their hockey goals. Their talent will be showcased in action packed showcase events in the PSHF,” said HTI President Jenya Feldman. “We are excited to begin building our team and working with the local community. We’ve added Rob Cordeiro as Head Coach who comes with a great deal of experience when it comes to player development and knowledge. We hope everyone will connect with us on social media to be the first to hear more details on our official launch. We are excited to get started and be part of the PSHF.”

The PSHF is in the midst of entering their 10th season. In the past years, the league has moved players on to all levels of hockey from Junior Hockey in both Canada and the United States, players have been drafted to the Ontario Hockey league (OHL) and Quebec Major Junior Hockey League (QMJHL) and NCAA Division I and III commitments.

More information about the HTI Stars will be revealed during the official launch in the coming weeks.
